Dr. Anna Sigridur Islind is an Assistant Professor at RU Department of Computer Science.
The digital platform, she was a part of developing during her PhD, has now been implemented and used in clinical practice at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Sweden. The patients gather their own data through wearables and mobile apps, the data feeds into a digital platform, and the physicians and the nurses use the data as a part of the clinical decision-making process.
She always works in a multi-disciplinary context and her main focus is on the design, development, and use of digital platforms and on data-visualizations for health benefits. She has 35 published peer-reviewed papers and 3 book chapters and is the project manager for a multi-disciplinary project on data-driven wellbeing at RU that includes 10 undergraduate and graduate students and several faculty members. She is a part of a European e-health network and has been track chair for the topics of a) data-driven healthcare and b) digital platforms on several large conferences in the past years.
