Dr. Hafrún Kristjánsdóttir is the Dean of The Department of Sport Science at Reykjavik University.
She has a master’s degree in clinical psychology and PhD in Biomedical Science. She is certified psychologist. Her research field is mostly in clinical psychology and sport science where she has studied psychological skills of high performance athletes as well as mental health, now also their sleep. Hafrún is one of three main investigators in a large research regarding concussion in athletic women. She has been working with high performance athletes and sport teams from 2005 and was psychologist for the Icelandic competitors in the Olympic games in 2012 and 2016.
