He is the Director of the Physical Activity, Physical Education, Sport, and Health Research Centre ((PAPESH) at RU. He received his PhD in Sport Science from University of A Coruña, Spain, in 2002. He has published 96 peer-reviewed papers. He is/was the Principal Investigator or researcher in 30 research projects. He has supervised six PhD students and 20 MSc students. His main research area is sports science, physical activity and health, now with emphasis on sleep as well.
